We are so excited to gather with you once again in our nation’s capital to celebrate the life-changing power of literacy.

The 2021 National Celebration of Reading will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. As always, the event will bring together Bush family members, bestselling authors and entertainers, and special guests to advance the Barbara Bush Foundation’s vital mission.

Our incredible lineup of authors and special guests will include President George W. BushLeslie JordanMateo AskaripourEva ChenLupita Nyong'OMeena HarrisDarren Walker, and Tim Shriver. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jonathan Capehart will serve as our emcee, and we will present Barbara Bush National Literacy Honors Awards to LeVar Burton and the LeBron James Family Foundation.

We are looking forward to an evening in celebration of the hope, joy, and endless opportunity that literacy can create for families across America, and we hope to see you there!
